PRIYANKA SINGHA is Crowned Miss India Northern California 2009
(Milpitas, California) November 07, 2009 -- After many successful endeavourers in fashion shows and beauty pageants Finesse events & films , Hollywood hosted the 3rd Annual Miss India Northern California 2009 . The pageant was held on Saturday November 7th, 2009 at the India Community Center in Milpitas, California and crowned Priyanka Singha as Miss India Northern California 2009. The evening’s gala was covered by Sahara One television and featured professional dance performances by DANCE IDENTITY & Miss India Northern California 2009 Richa Shukla and a fashion show by designer, Shekhar Rahate. The event was hosted by Miss India Northern California 2007 2nd Runner up Singdha Mallik , Miss India Northern California 2008 2nd Runner up Medha Nicky Rishi & Model Anu Singh. Pageant was directed & choreographed by Shekhar Rahate.
The Miss India Northern California was created to provide entertainment and enlightenment about Indian arts and culture to the audience; benefits and opportunities for the contestants; and an annual event for the participation of the Indian Community in Northern California. Our goal is to promote the glorious Indian culture and performing arts development and enhance awareness of our arts, customs, performing arts, culture, philosophies and history through the Miss India Northern California Pageant.
The Miss India Northern California Pageant is affiliated with the prestigious Miss India Worldwide Pageant. The winner of the Miss India Northern California 2009 Pageant, Priyanka Singha will get tremendous media exposure and the opportunity of a lifetime to represent Northern California in the forthcoming Miss India USA 2009 pageant. Contestants from over 25 cities from all over the USA will participate in the annual event Miss India USA 2009 to be held on Nov. 21, 2009 in Tampa , Florida. The winner of Miss India USA 2009 beauty pageant will compete in the internationally established Miss India Worldwide Pageant to be held on March 27th 2010 at Durban, South Africa.
Contestants for the Miss India Northern California Pageant must be of Indian origin, between the ages of 17 and 27, never married, and are U.S. citizens or residents, or born in USA or at least have 1 parent of Indian decent. The pageant consists of five segments; Indian Sari, Western gown, Modern Indian, Talent and a Question & Answer session.
Priyanka Singha wasn’t the only winner that evening. Sandhya Rajkrishnan was named as 1st runner up and Rubal Sekhon as 2nd runner up for Miss India Northern California 2009. Additional awards went to Nikita Patel for for best talent & Miss Congeniality ; Rubal Sekhon for best smile; Sandhya Rajkrishnan for Best Catwalk, Sanjeeta Lal for Miss photogenic & Amelia Singh for Best Hair.
Lastt year’s winner Miss India Northern California 2008 Richa Shukla helped with the crowing ceremony for Miss Singha.
